This Monday, February 2, team 1 of bad players from Badminton Club Grande-Motte (BCGM) faced players from Saint-Jean-de-Védas at home. They won 4 to 3. The winners in men’s singles 2 and women’s singles were Mathieu Durand and Nathalie Klotz respectively. In men’s doubles and women’s doubles, it was the pair Axel Goncalves and Patrick Michaud followed by the duo Sophie Bernier and Nathalie Klotz who won. In men’s singles 1, Enzo Bertossi fell as well as the mixed doubles 1 and 2 composed of the pairs Simon Sastre-Esther Boudon and Christophe Clément-Carine Daudu.
A victory that “feels good”
“It was a decisive meeting in the race to maintain, and each match was very close and of palpable intensity. The surprise duo Patrick and Axel, affectionately nicknamed the wall, shook the nets while Nathalie struggled to get a victory in 3 sets, weakened by the quantity of “ramen” soups that she was able to ingest in Japan! Mathieu created a surprise during his first call-up in the women’s singles and the women’s doubles was easily won with a very fit Nathalie and a Sophie who had something to prove to her partner and lover, injured, who had traveled in her chair”, laughs Captain Simon Sastre.
As for team 2, it pocketed its second victory of the season, the same evening, at home, against Lattes with an identical final score of 4 to 3. In men’s singles 1 and 2, Antoine Teyssier Jacquelin in 3 sets and Nicolas Ramadier in 2 sets won. In men’s doubles, the duo Nicolas Ramadier-Tristan Fauginet won in 2 sets, same thing for the pair Ann Captus-Stéphane Solanet in mixed doubles 1 in 3 sets. In women’s singles, Jennifer Mestre fell in 3 sets, the pairs Marie Bibent-Ann Captus in women’s doubles and Elian Rochette-Jennifer Mestre in mixed doubles 2 also lost. The matches were very competitive.
“This 2nd victory feels good. It is important and shows what we are capable of when we play at our level. Now the hardest part begins. It is a question of confirming by remaining as demanding as ever”, concludes the captain.
