Badminton: French Championships 2024 – Results & West Region Reactions

For 72 hours, Caen is the capital of French badminton. Sunday February 8, five national titles will be awarded (men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles). Titled for the first time on the national scene last year, the Calvadosian Alex Lanier is the man most awaited. He will try to retain his crown, but will have a lot to do with the Popov brothers, notably Christo, who is currently in great shape and whom he could meet in the final.

Reactions from Western players

Milo Dubois and Clémence Gadreau (Caen, qualified in 2e mixed doubles round): “It’s never easy to play at 9 a.m. but it’s nice to start so well. We must take into account this new environment, this public. We can hear this audience well and it’s a boost. We still have one round to go to reach the final table. We won’t necessarily be favorites but we’re here to have a few rounds. We’ve been playing together for almost two years, we’re progressing. »
