Al-Ittihad vs Al-Ahly: Basketball League Result

The basketball team of Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club succeeded in defeating its counterpart, Al-Ahly, with a score of 93-91, at the conclusion of the preliminary round competitions of the Allianz Premier Basketball League for the 2025-2026 sports season.

The preliminary round competitions are held in a two-round league system between the eight participating teams, where the winner of each match gets two points, compared to one point for the loser, for ranking from first to eighth, and determining the quarter-final matches.

Al-Ittihad men won 93-91, and the results of the rounds were as follows:

First half: 20-20

Second half: 46-46

Third half: 70-63

Fourth period: 93-91

With this result, Al-Ittihad Club succeeded in adding two points to its score, bringing it to 27 points at the top of the standings, while Al-Ahly added one point to its score, bringing it to 26 points in second place.

It is worth noting that the regulations for the current season stipulate that the final rounds will be held in the Best of 5 system, where the first, second and fifth matches will be played in the governorate hall of the best-ranked team in the preliminary round, while the third and fourth matches will be held in the other team’s governorate hall.

Eight teams participate in the preliminary round, namely: Al-Ahly, Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, Zamalek, Sporting, Al-Jazira, Telecom Egypt, Petrojet, and Smouha.

The Allianz Basketball Premier League is the most prominent tournament in the local season, as its champion qualifies for the African League, which represents the gateway to the Club World Cup.
