archery Aguascalientes once again placed itself at the top of the national scene, after Rodrigo González de Alba y José Ángel Cuéllar Iturbide will conquer the first and second placerespectively, in the “Dafne Quintero” Open Tournamentheld in Monclova.
Both hydrocalid archers, with track records and experience in international competitions, participated in the Men’s Composite Open categorywhere they starred in a high-level final. The duel for first place was defined after a 15 throw tiea situation that forced a tiebreaker arrowin which González de Alba managed to prevail to take the victory.
The competition took place under adverse weather conditionswith temperatures below zero degrees, an unusual scenario for this discipline that required maximum concentration, technique and resistance from the participants. Despite this, the representatives of Aguascalientes showed solidity and determination to dominate the test.
The participation of both athletes is part of the preparation process towards the 2026 National Olympicsmain objective of the competitive calendar. In this context, the archers recognized the support received from the Sports Institute of the State of Aguascalienteswhose support has been key to its development and continuity in high-level events.
These results confirm the high competitive level of archery in Aguascalientesconsolidating the state as one of the main national references in the discipline and strengthening its aspirations in the face of commitments towards the highest youth sports event in the country.
