Slovak hockey forward Adam Ružička has already arrived at the site of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Just yesterday, he played a match for his Spartak Moscow on the ice of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL. Immediately after the meeting, he flew to Milan via Belgrade.
“It was a difficult night, but I’m very happy to be here. I can finally see it here, I’m looking forward to the next days,” the center told Hockey Slovakia after his arrival.
The journey was difficult and he was significantly delayed in several administrative positions. Even on the way to the Olympic village, his car had to stop to make way for the Italian president, who was visiting the village.
Ružička will just rest today. He will be in the room with Libor Hudáček.
“I have to unpack my things and the like. I want to rest a little and then get on with it,” said the center, who will be one of the most important forwards in the Slovak team.
Ružička has a productive season. He scored 40 points in 48 games.
“There is a lot of emotion, but I am very happy and fired up. Let it begin,” he described his feelings before the Olympic tournament.
“I mostly focus on matches and hockey. Of course, I will also look at the things around, but I will focus on hockey.”
The Slovaks will train in Milan in the coming days and will play their first match on Wednesday, February 11, against Finland.
