Zlatan Ibrahimović: Relationship & Scandal

Hélène Hendriks suspects that Sylvie Meis plays a role in the bad relationship between Rafael van der Vaart and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This is what the TV presenter believes in the HNM podcast. The two former football players did not get along at all during their time at Ajax.

Maximilian Ibrahimovic, Zlatan’s son, is about to sign for the Amsterdam team. This most likely means that the nineteen-year-old attacker will play for Jong Ajax with Damian, Rafael’s son, Noa Vahle notes. Due to the bad relationship between their fathers, the reporter is looking forward to the meeting between the two players. “Zlatan and Rafael absolutely hate each other. They think each other are such arrogant bastards.”

In 2004, Zlatan and Rafael played together at Ajax, but things went wrong between the two players in an international match between the Netherlands and Sweden. Ibrahimovic kicked Van der Vaart out of the match, after which both players could drink each other’s blood. Vahle spoke to the Swede about the incident last year. “He said: that’s in the past and we’re older now, I hope he’s doing well. When we got back to the studio, Rafael just said: he still thinks I’m such an incredible dick.”

However, Hendriks believes that Sylvie Meis, Van der Vaart’s ex-partner, also plays a role in the bad relationship between the two players. “There is something to the underlying reason. I think Sylvie, who was busy with Rafael at the time, had something with Zlatan for a while. I think that was stated in his biography, we have to check that.”
