Michael Zetterer (30) does not rule out a comboback at SV Werder Bremen. In an interview with ‘DeichStube’, the goalkeeper answers the question of whether he could imagine returning to the Weser: “Absolutely. I was there for ten and a half years and said it when I said goodbye: I hope it’s not forever. Bremen will always be a bit of home for us. I’m now in my prime as a goalkeeper and I want to play successful football for a few more years. That’s my goal. That’s why you never know where a career will lead.”
In the summer, Zetterer moved from the Green-Whites to Eintracht Frankfurt for eight million euros. There, the former German U-national player was even number one between the posts because of Kauã Santos (22)’s poor form. At the turn of the year, the roll took place backwards, according to Zetterer’s own statement “must accept”. Looking ahead to today’s duel (8:30 p.m.) between the Bundesliga teams, the 30-year-old says: “Of course I would have been happy to continue to be in goal. Especially against Werder it would have been a highlight game that I would have been really looking forward to.”
