Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz will meet in the quarterfinals of the Rolex Paris Masters on Friday, November 6, with the match scheduled to begin no earlier than 7:00 p.m. local time at Paris’ Plenitude Arena, according to Marca and Canal Tenis. In Spain the start time is also 7:00 p.m., while viewers in Argentina and Chile can watch from 3:00 p.m., the outlets reported.
Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals without hitting a ball, after Matteo Berrettini withdrew before their round-of-16 match, ABC.es reported. It was the first time a rival has pulled out before taking the court against Alcaraz since the Spaniard turned professional, Marca noted.
Alcaraz advanced on a walkover after six matches in nine days
Carlos Alcaraz arrived in the French capital as the reigning Vienna champion, carrying titles from Tokyo and Vienna into the final Masters 1000 of the season. He opened against Alex Michelsen, who pushed him in the first set before Alcaraz closed it out 7-6(4), 6-3, ABC.es reported. He then played six matches over the previous nine days, Marca noted, making the unexpected rest day welcome even if Alcaraz thrives on match play.
Alcaraz has never won the Paris title and this is the deepest he has gone at the event, ABC.es reported.
Fritz is one win from the ATP Finals
The American, 29, ranked No. 12 in the world, faces a double objective in Paris: a second title of the season and a spot at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, ABC.es reported. With Alex de Miñaur and Novak Djokovic already eliminated and out of contention, one place remains, and Fritz is battling compatriot Tommy Paul and Spain’s Rafa Jódar for it, who lost to Casper Ruud in the second round but remains on the provisional list. Only a semifinal berth in Paris would put Fritz in position to claim that spot, the outlet reported. Jódar’s ally in that race is Alcaraz.
Head-to-head: Alcaraz leads 6-1
Across seven official meetings, Alcaraz holds a 6-1 advantage over Fritz, Canal Tenis reported. On the ATP Tour, Alcaraz has won all four encounters: Miami 2023 (6-4, 6-2), Wimbledon 2025 (6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6)), the Tokyo 2025 final (6-4, 6-4) and the group stage of the 2025 ATP Finals (6-7(2), 7-5, 6-3). In the Laver Cup, Alcaraz won in 2024 (6-2, 7-5) and 2026 (6-3, 4-6, 13-11), while Fritz’s only win in the series came in London in 2025 (6-3, 6-2), when he saved two match points, Marca reported.

Fritz’s road through Paris has been hard-fought
Fritz needed three sets to get past France’s Benjamin Bonzi (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Slovakia’s Alex Molcan (6-7(6), 7-5, 7-6(5)) before a more comfortable win over Arthur Fils, 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 11 minutes, ABC.es reported. Fils was already qualified for the ATP Finals, which showed in his lack of urgency, Marca noted — the opposite of Fritz’s situation.

Fritz’s biggest career trophy remains the 2022 Indian Wells Masters 1000, and he was a finalist at the 2024 US Open and the 2024 ATP Finals, ABC.es reported. He was also a finalist in Lyon earlier this autumn, Canal Tenis noted.
When and where to watch Alcaraz vs. Fritz
The quarterfinal is set for Friday, November 6, in the evening session at the Plenitude Arena in Paris, starting no earlier than 7:00 p.m. local time — 7:00 p.m. CET in Spain and 18:00 UTC, or 3:00 p.m. in Argentina and Chile, Canal Tenis reported.
- Spain: Movistar Plus — M+ Vamos (channels 8 and 50), M+ #Vamos Bar (307), M+ Deportes 2 (64) and Tennis TV, according to Canal Tenis.
- Argentina, Peru, Chile and the rest of South America: ESPN and Disney+ Premium, with coverage from all courts, Canal Tenis reported.
What a win means for each man
For Alcaraz, a victory extends his winning streak and keeps him on course for a first Paris crown, with momentum aimed at the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup Finals, Canal Tenis reported. For Fritz, only a semifinal appearance keeps his ATP Finals hopes alive, and beating Alcaraz would simultaneously dent Jódar’s qualification chances.
