The meeting of Argentine dictators with João Havelange and Joseph Blatter to change the time of Brazil and Argentina’s games during the World Cup, and thus allow the Buenos Aires team to play against Peru knowing how many goals they would need to score, was reported for years as just “a decision by FIFA”.
Therefore, the dictatorship as an act or as a form, bypasses sports coverage. And everything indicates that it will be no different in the USA.
This will consecrate, once again, the infamous perception that “sports journalists only talk about football”, a shame that remains active.
Those who burst the bubble have been doing so for years with credit acquired in a sustainable and continuous manner, without mincing words and journalistic rigor in the investigation.
Let us also remember that journalists (here called all media forms of free expression), for the most part, are employed by media outlets that, as history shows, adapt their editorial lines to the rules of the day or to the bet on the predictability of future achievements.
The entry of speculative capital into the publishing market exposes this premise.
