Durango Rugby Taldea launches Movember campaign

Durango Rugby Taldea Launches Milestone Movember Campaign

Durango Rugby Taldea has launched its Movember campaign to raise awareness for men’s physical and mental health. Marking the club’s 40th anniversary this season, the initiative has expanded to invite sports clubs across the comarca to participate, uniting local athletic organizations behind the cause.

Local Athletic Clubs Rally Behind Health Initiatives

Several local teams have accepted the invitation to support the annual November movement, which highlights issues including physical health and mental health. Participating organizations include Ezkurdi, Mendibeltz, Gu Lagunak, Abadiño KE, Mugarra, Cultural de Durango, Tabirako Baqué, and Durango Jai Alai. Organizers note that global statistics underscore the urgency of the cause, pointing out that suicide claims the lives of 60 men every hour worldwide.

Charity Merchandise Sales and Community Pop-Ups

To fund prevention and research efforts, Durango Rugby Taldea is selling a solid black charity t-shirt featuring a white mustache for ten euros. Merchandise is available at the rugby club bar, alongside a series of scheduled community pop-up dates. Sales take place at Andra Mari on October 31 and November 14, followed by a presence at Arripausueta on November 21.

Community Leadership and 40th Anniversary Solidarity

Representatives from participating clubs emphasize the significance of cross-disciplinary cooperation in the comarca. Paul Bereziartua of Mugarra described the partnership as a valuable opportunity for different sports to unite under a shared community goal. Peio Caballero, secretary of Abadiño KE, echoed that sentiment, stating that the collaborative effort demonstrates essential solidarity among local athletic institutions as the Durango rugby side marks four decades of history.

Traditional Pintxopote Event Concludes November Schedule

The campaign will conclude on November 26 with a traditional pintxopote event hosted in collaboration with Saltsa and Mesoi barria.
