For the juniors, Rihard Lozber was the fastest skier in the distance of 12 kilometers, but five errors in the shooting prevented him from competing for a medal, and he finished in the eighth position.
Wolff also had two bronze medals in these championships – in the sprint and in the pair relay together with Lozber, who also won a bronze medal in the individual distance.
In the junior women’s competition, after the final shooting, Wolff lost 10.8 seconds to the then-leader, Tetyana Tarasyuk of Ukraine, but beat her by 3.1 seconds at the finish. Wolff made one mistake in the shoot, finishing in 27 minutes and 0.6 seconds.
Tarasjuka shot accurately, but the third-place finisher, Sweden’s Greta Seldahl, missed two targets and lost one minute and 12.4 seconds at the finish.
Elsa Bleidel made five mistakes in the shooting and finished less than two minutes behind Wolff, taking 21st place. Martīne Djatkoviča, who had 42nd place in the competition of 60 participants, also made five mistakes.
For juniors, Czech Michael Malek won the gold medal, closing all the targets and finishing in 32 minutes and 13.2 seconds.
Lozber made five mistakes and finished 47.3 seconds behind the winner. Adriāns Šņoriņš missed eight goals and was 52nd, while Daniels Kodalevs, with seven shooting errors, ranked 54th in the competition of 59 participants.
