They will represent France on the biggest stage. The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) announced this Friday the names of the four standard bearers of the French delegation for the Milan Cortina Winter Games (from February 6 to 22 then from March 6 to 15 for the Paralympics).
After unveiling a list of candidates at the beginning of January, the two committees decided after the athletes’ vote. On the Olympic side, the skier Clement Noel (28 years old) and the snowboarder Chloe Trespeuch (31 years old) succeed Kevin Rolland and Tessa Worley, flag bearers in 2022 in Beijing.
Olympic slalom champion in 2022, current 3rd in the World Cup slalom rankings, Clément Noël spoke in our columns in 2025 of the (then distant) possibility of taking on this responsibility: “As a general rule, we are not at the opening ceremony (the slalom is scheduled at the end of the alpine skiing events)but it would be cool to be there since it’s close. If I am told that I am a standard bearer, I will make the effort to come (smile). It’s classy to be a standard bearer. »
For her fourth Olympic Games, Chloé Trespeuch will aim for the gold medal after winning bronze in Sochi (2014) and silver in Beijing (2022). The winner of the big crystal globe in snowboardcross in 2024 is one of the references in her discipline.
“I am very happy to be flag bearer, very proud to have been chosen by the athletes, I want to share that intensely with all the athletes,” she declared. It promises great emotions, the Olympics mark a career, it marked mine three times. »
Paralympic Games flag bearers
On the side of the Paralympic athletes, the snowboarder was chosen Cecile Hernandez (51 years old) and the skier By Jordan Brois (32 years old). Reigning Olympic champion in cross-country, Hernandez has a very long track record which includes three other Olympic medals: two silver (in cross-country in Sochi in 2014, in banked slalom in 2018 in Pyeongchang) and one bronze (in cross-country in 2018).
His partner Jordan Broisin will compete in his third Olympic Games after Pyeongchang and Beijing. He has several podiums in the World Cup, both in giant and slalom.
