West Ham took the lead thanks to an own goal by Murillo, who headed Souček’s corner kick into the net. But the visitors turned the score around after the break. Nicolas Domínguez equalized in the 55th minute and Nottingham captain Morgan Gibbs-White scored from the penalty spot a minute before the end.
West Ham thus lost important points in the fight for salvation. In 18th place, which means relegation to the second division for the first time, the London club is seven points behind seventeenth-placed Nottingham.
