O Vasco is close to closing an agreement with Atlético Nacional, from Colombia, for the signing of 23-year-old striker Marino Hinestroza. The information was initially released by journalist Lucas Pedrosa. The Rio club has made progress in negotiations in recent days and could overcome competition from Boca Juniors, who had advanced talks with the player.

Hinestroza came close to reinforcing the Argentine club, but Vasco gained strength in the dispute and now leads the race to sign one of the recent highlights of Colombian football. The striker had already entered Fluminense’s sights in the last transfer window.

Revealed by América de Cali, Hinestroza spent time in Palmeiras’ youth categories between 2020 and 2021, playing for the under-20 team on loan. The player’s greatest moment, however, came wearing the Atlético Nacional shirt. Hired in mid-2024, after a spell at Columbus Crew, in the United States, the striker has played 84 games, with 11 goals scored and 14 assists for the Colombian team.
