Dante Vanzeir returned to Belgium last season hoping to experience as much success at Ghent as at Union Saint-Gilloise. A year later, he left through the back door and signed for Cercle de Bruges, a choice which he explained.
Dante Vanzeir is the big winter blow for Cercle de Bruges: an experienced Belgian striker is a rare commodity in our championship and the Green & Black really need it this season. The choice of the Red Devil was also easy, he assures.
“We reached an agreement on December 31. Le Cercle presented me with a clear project and it immediately “matched” with the people I spoke to,” says the striker in the Newspaper. Vanzeir had other ideas, including a very concrete one, but he did not hesitate.
Vanzeir, a reinforcement of experience
“For me, it was very quickly clear that it would be the Circle. We have the same ambition and I quickly felt that I wanted to be part of this young and talented group,” says the ex-Unionist.
The objective is clear: to relaunch, after failures in New York and in Ghent following its departure from the Union. “After two serious injuries, I learned to deal with this kind of setback,” he puts things into perspective. “I am 27 years old, I have experience in Belgium and abroad.”
An experience that he wants to make available to the Circle. “I think I can help this young core and contribute to their development,” Dante Vanzeir concludes optimistically.
