Upper Palatinate: Women’s Sports Club Wins Indoor Title

Things have straightened out again! At the Upper Palatinate Women’s Indoor Championships, the sports club fully lived up to its role as favorite. The Regensburg women were able to bring the title back to the cathedral city with a confident performance and are only going to the Bavarian championship.

In the well-attended Kerschensteiner Hall in Regensburg, the local hero won all five games on Sunday. The team led by coaches Kristina Gruber and Christian Biersack ended up with 15 points and 11:2 goals. After Schwarzenfeld’s surprise victory last year, the long-term winner is now at the top again. “Played 60 minutes, only got two goals and scored eleven: I think we are a worthy and deserved winner. Now we’re trying to represent the Upper Palatinate well at Bayerische. We’re really looking forward to it and are all very happy.”Gruber and Biersack cheered.

The Regensburg women are going to the Bavarian Women’s Indoor Championships on January 25th in Erlangen. The SC also had the tournament’s top scorer. Isabella Dietl put the play equipment into the net four times. Best value! Teresa Frischholz (Schwarzenfeld) and Julia Seufert (Neusorg) followed in this ranking with three hits each.

SV Neusorg, who also played a respectable tournament, came in second. The North Upper Palatinate team managed ten points. If they had won their last match against the sports club, even they would have been crowned champions. With eight points, 1. FC Schwarzenfeld took third place. The Black and Whites lost their third match 1:3 against the sports club and had to prematurely bury their dream of defending their title. In the end, the last three of this group of six, in which everyone played against everyone for the title, were a little behind. TSV Brunn, SV Thenried and SV 08 Auerbach, who were the only teams without a win, ultimately had nothing to do with the outcome at the top.

The final rankings:
1. SC Regensburg (15 points)
2. SV Neusorg (10)
3. 1. FC Schwarzenfeld (8)
4. TSV Brunn (4)
5. SV Thenried (4)
6. SV 08 Auerbach (1)
