Belinda Bencic (28) knows exactly how to rock team competitions in Australia. In 2018 and 2019 she won the last two Hopman Cup events alongside Roger Federer (44), and now she is leading the Swiss team from success to success in the follow-up event, the United Cup. The final ticket is already waiting for you on Saturday when the match against Belgium comes up. Bencic has been playing irresistibly so far and hasn’t given up a single set yet. Her teammate Stan Wawrinka (40) is deeply impressed – and has now emphasized several times that everyone in Perth lives “in Belinda’s world”.

Well, his statement quickly became a household word. And promptly also a T-shirt, which was shown for the first time during a video shoot with the organizer. Wawrinka received the textile – with a photo of Bencic and the aforementioned inscription – as a gift.
After the quarter-final victory over Greece, there was an amusing exchange of blows at the press conference. Bencic accused Wawrinka of not wearing the shirt. He explained that he would perhaps wear it for the onward journey to Sydney, where the finals would take place. Her answer: “So it’s just a travel shirt!”
And so they ultimately agreed that Wawrinka would now have to wear the shirt on Saturday during the Bencic match when he sits in the Swiss box. “That’s the least,” joked Bencic, to which the old master countered: “Deal. I don’t want to put any pressure on you, but then you have to keep playing so well!”
