The recent Umbrian Sports Festival took place, organized by the Umbria Regional CONI under the leadership of Commissioner Riccardo Giubilei, which was attended by authoritative representatives of sports and political institutions, including the National President of CONI Luciano Buonfiglio, the President of the Umbria Region Stefania Proietti and Marco Giunio De Sanctis, President of the Italian Paralympic Committee.
The event represented a moment of celebration for the athletes, technicians and clubs who distinguished themselves at a regional, national and international level, giving prestige to Umbrian sport.
During the ceremony the following protagonists of Umbrian basketball were awarded: Valdiceppo Basket U19, among the top 8 teams classified at the Gold National Finals; Agnese Gianangeli (PF Umbertide), bronze medal with the national team at the U20 European Championships; Andrea Giottoli, Physical Trainer of the Women’s National Team; Pallacanestro Ellera, awarded the Bronze Star for Sporting Merit, withdrawn by President Franco Belisti; Gianni Bico, awarded the Gold Star for Sporting Merit.
These awards represent a tribute to the commitment, passion and results of athletes, technicians and managers who contribute to enhancing sport in Umbria, promoting values of excellence, dedication and team spirit.
The Umbrian Sports Festival thus confirms the importance of the daily work of sports clubs and the regional movement, celebrating those who, with their commitment, bring prestige to basketball and Umbrian sport as a whole.
