Ulkebøl Badminton: Stepping Down as Chairman

Soon my time as chairman of the board of Ulkebøl Badminton will end. After several years on the board and the most recent as chairman, it is a natural time to pass on the baton. When I look back at the last 4-5 years, it is clear how much the club has progressed. We were left with a youth department that was under pressure and lacking players. Today, we have virtually full teams all around. It didn’t come by itself. It has come through structure, clear values and a common focus on creating a club where community, passion and fair play are not just words, but something we live by. It has also come through collaboration. A strong coaching staff. Volunteers who take responsibility. A board that works in the same direction. And a culture where we lift as a group. Along the way, the club has distinguished itself outside the hall: – Finalist and top three in the nomination for Denmark’s best badminton club – Nominated for Association of the Year in Sønderborg Municipality For me, it has been a task that has required both leadership, structure, patience and the ability to gather people around a common direction. This is something I will take with me further. Now the time has come for new forces to take over. The club is strong, both organizationally and financially, and a foundation has been created that makes it easy to build on. I am proud of the journey. Proud of the results. And proud to have been part of a community that has managed to turn challenges into development. I look forward to following the club from the outside and seeing how the next chapter is written.
