Ueda Injury Update: Doubtful for Sunday’s Match

Feyenoord cannot call on Ayase Ueda on Thursday evening in the Europa League. The Japanese striker did not travel to Spain for the match against Real Betis due to physical complaints. According to The Telegraph the 27-year-old attacker is also a doubt for next Sunday’s top match against PSV.

Within Feyenoord, everything is being done to get Ueda fit in time for the match in the Philips Stadium. The striker is not struggling with an injury that will keep him sidelined for a longer period of time, but is suffering from several aches and pains. The medical staff is currently working overtime to get as many players available as possible.

The match against PSV on Sunday seems to be too early for Tsuyoshi Watanabe. Anel Ahmedhodzic is also being prepared with a view to the top match. It became clear earlier that Sem Steijn still has a chance of playing minutes. The midfielder trained with us, but after consultation it was decided not to take him to Spain.

Feyenoord is missing a total of eleven players due to injuries on Thursday evening. That group also includes Shilow ‘t Zand, who has resumed training but is currently making training minutes with the promises. Mats Deijl and Jeremiah St. Juste can be there again on Sunday. Both players are not eligible to play for the Europa League match.
