Baseball fever is at TVA Sports
Baseball fans get their money’s worth on the TVA Sports channel, which will broadcast more than 200 professional matches this year. The program begins in March with the World Baseball Classic, which will see 20 teams from around the world compete in a tournament whose grand final will be held in Miami on March 17. However, we don’t miss the historic preparatory match which will be held between Team Canada and the Toronto Blue Jays on March 3, just before the start of the first round of the tournament. We then find the famous team of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. against the Oakland Athletics in the opening game of Major League Baseball (MLB), on March 27, before following the only Canadian MLB team in no less than 81 games throughout the season. We will also be able to follow the other star teams of the league, including the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers, in 78 games broadcast by the channel, which will also offer us the Wild Card Series games, the division series and the American League championship series this fall!
Charles Lafortune is working on a collaboration with Finland
Pixcom, which produces the series Alerts, Indefensible et Ravagesis developing a fiction that will feature Quebec and Finnish actors. According to the Senior Vice-President, Content and Creation, Charles Lafortune, the production company Dionysos Films, via producer Riina Hyytiä, is participating in the financial arrangement of this project, the title of which is not known at this stage. “Our project is a Nordic noir type series and will be filmed here. We are a bit in the battery sector, Finns who come to work here and something happens which means that they are caught here because one of them is accused of something. We already have a Finnish broadcaster, MTV Oy, who is attached to the project, and here, it is for illico+,” revealed Charles Lafortune. There is strength in numbers, as they say, Finland being a country which has the same budgetary issues as those of Quebec and which is trying to resist American platforms. Pixcom is working in parallel on two new series intended for illico+, namely thrillers Prescott et One year later.
A second season for Who pushed Mélodie?
Winner of four awards at the 40th edition of the Gémeaux awards, including Best Comedy or Drama, the series Who pushed Mélodie? has officially been renewed for a second season. Télé-Québec and the production house Trio Orange have indeed announced that Chantal Fontaine, Jacques L’Heureux, Annick Bergeron, Catherine Chabot, Jean-Simon Leduc, Isabeau Blanche and Jean-François Provençal will soon return to the Académie des ratons daycare for a new humorous adventure signed by screenwriters Marc Auger Gosselin and Simon Larouche, who also play the characters of Luc and Daniel. Pascal L’Heureux will return to his place behind the camera to direct these new episodes, which will be filmed this spring. We can’t wait to discover what crazy mystery we’ll be treated to this time!
