As the Devils said in a Facebook post, there has been a decline in membership over the past year. “One reason for the decline is that there are two clubs in the region that offer baseball and people are stealing interest from each other in this fringe sport,” it says, referring to the Bremerhaven Bandits, who settled at ESC Geestemünde after leaving Wehden.
Lüneburgers no longer form a gaming community
Last season, the Spaden team formed a syndicate with the Lüneburg Woodlarks in the state league. But in the coming season, the Lüneburgers will no longer be available for a syndicate. Attempts to find another team in the league were also unsuccessful.
Devils fight for new members
“We will do everything we can to win new members again this year. We are confident that we will be able to participate in the state league again next year,” said the Devils in a combative manner. Training in Spaden will also continue. Anyone interested in baseball is welcome to join the Devils – regardless of gender or age.
