In a warm and involved PalaTrieste, the Trieste Basketball confirms his excellent moment by overcoming the Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari at the end of an intense and hard-fought match, decided by a fourth period of great quality, energy and clarity. For the red and whites it is the fourth consecutive victorya result that certifies the growth and continuity of the path. After three quarters spent on the edge of balance, with Sassari often ahead thanks to the experience and offensive solutions of its wingers, Trieste raises the level in the final half, finding continuity in attack and defensive solidity in key moments. A victory built with patience and personality, embellished by return of Colbey Rosswho returned to the pitch after more than three weeks of absence due to injury, and by the performance of Ramsey Jahmi’usbest scorer of the match with 24 points. A success that further enhances the team’s growth path and rewards the drive of the home crowd.
Trieste leaves with Ruzzier, Ramsey, Brown, Uthoff e Brooks. The start was favorable to Sassari: Buie scored from the arc on an assist from Ceron, who shortly afterwards hit a counterattack from distance after a turnover by Uthoff. Brooks makes one of two from the line, Ceron makes his second triple, but Trieste reacts with Ramsey, who responds from the arc in two consecutive actions. McGlynn supports two points in the area, Brooks scores from the midrange at the siren and then serves Uthoff who earns the triple with pace and space. Ruzzier recovers the rebound and goes all the way in support for two points, Brown fakes the shot from distance and scores in a one-on-one in support of the scoreboard. Ruzzier catches and shoots from distance, the ball touches the basket but Toscano is there – Anderson corrects the rebound. Vincini scores under the basket, Thomas makes one of two free throws, Uthoff scores two points again from the corner on an assist from Ross, Vincini responds from the midrange. The first quarter ends on 20-16.
In the second period Trieste returns with Ross, Ramsey, Deangeli, Toscano-Anderson e Candussi. Ramsey scores from underneath on an assist from Ross, then Candussi goes to the basket after a good offensive rebound from Deangeli. Toscano-Anderson’s dunk was canceled due to an attacking foul by Deangeli. Buie shortens from midrange, Ceron recovers the ball and scores the third triple of the evening on the counterattack. Brown made a great block on McGlynn’s dunk attempt, but Buie equalized with a triple at the buzzer. Good play between Thomas and McGlynn brings Sassari back ahead then Visconti scores from the arc. After the break Trieste starts again with the starting quintet. Vincini and Thomas find six consecutive points near the basket, Brooks equalizes with a triple assisted by Ramsey. Buie raises for Vincini’s dunk and then scores from the arc for +5 Sassari. Candussi scores with the foul on an assist from Ross and completes the three-point play, Ceron strikes again from distance at the siren. Uthoff scores from mid-range with a shot on one leg, Pullen attacks the basket and finds the floater, Ramsey responds by attacking the rim and scoring two points. Mezzanotte, Toscano-Anderson and Pullen make a clear run from the line, but Trieste’s final triple doesn’t go in and the third quarter ends 44-49.
Fourth bedroom. On the field for the finale Ross, Brown, Deangeli, Toscano-Anderson e Brooks. In recent times, Trieste has changed gears. Brown opens with a triple from the corner, Visconti makes two free throws on the line after Deangeli’s foul. Ross scores two points from the foul line after Mezzanotte’s foul and then serves Deangeli who attacks the basket and scores with the floater. Visconti finds Zanelli for the triple, but Ross responds from the dribble with three points and then from the foul line. Thomas makes a three-point play, but Ramsey takes control of the game: first he scores two points on Ross’ throw, then he recovers the rebound and serves Uthoff for the triple and scores a very heavy triple off the dribble after the timeout. Buie scores two points from the foul line, then Thomas recovers his own rebound and scores two points. Toscano-Anderson hits from the arc on an assist from Ruzzier, Ramsey scores again from three and adds two points from the line. In the final Thomas tries to keep Sassari in his wake, but Toscano-Anderson goes to the line and makes the two free throws, followed by two free throws by Thomas. Uthoff captures the decisive rebound and Trieste closes in 76-70.
