The former owner of OL and current Botafogo, John Textor, has promised significant financial reinforcement to the Carioca club for this week, putting an end to the recruitment ban which blocked new recruits. During an interview on Alvinegra Arenathe American assured that the board of Eagle, of which he is the majority shareholder, had validated the investment, which will make it possible to settle the debt linked to the arrival of Thiago Almada and to authorize the club to recruit the desired players.
The manager also gave the green light to sports management to conclude transfers according to Globoguaranteeing that all targeted reinforcements will be able to sign before the transfer window closes on March 3. John Textor has confirmed that he will be present at the Nilton Santos Stadium on the first day of the Brasileirão against Cruzeiro, and that he has no intention of leaving the club despite criticism, saying that he is “the right owner for this club” and that he will continue his commitment to Botafogo.
