Stade Rennais has just announced the first recruit of its winter transfer window this Thursday. Polish midfielder Sebastian Szymanski joins the Breton club from Fenerbahçe.
Polish international midfielder Sebastian Szymanski signed on Thursday for Stade Rennais until 2029, from Turkish club Fenerbahçe, the Breton club announced.
According to the press, the Rouge et Noir would have paid some 10 million euros to secure the services of the 26-year-old attacking midfielder (50 caps, 6 goals).

This is Rennes’ first recruit this winter.
Szymanski, trained at Legia Warsaw before going through Dynamo Moscow, Feyenoord Rotterdam and “Torch”must bring more technical quality and creativity to the Breton midfield.
He also has good ball striking, whether from set pieces or penalties.
However, his arrival could encourage players in the same sector of the game who are unhappy with their playing time, like Ludovic Blas, to look for an exit this winter.
