Switzerland Olympic Hockey Team: NHL & Swiss Stars

The Swiss national team will have one goalkeeper, three defenders and six forwards from NHL clubs, while the other 15 players are from the strongest domestic league.

Among the Swiss who played in the NHL this season, only the 21-year-old Dallas “Stars” defenseman Leon Bichsel, who was injured, is not included in the squad.

The Swiss national team will face Canada, the Czech Republic and France in Group A at the Olympic Games.

There will be three groups in the hockey tournament of the Olympic Games. Finland, Sweden, Slovakia and Italy will compete in Group B, while Latvia, USA, Germany and Denmark will compete in Group C.

The winner of each group and the best of the runners-up will immediately qualify for the quarter-finals, while the remaining teams will compete in the round of 16.

The Olympic men’s hockey tournament will take place from February 11 to 22.
