The Pittsburgh Steelers have secured the final spot for the National Football League (NFL) playoffs in an all-or-nothing game. The team around quarterback Aaron Rodgers won the dramatic direct duel against the Baltimore Ravens with a touchdown in the last minute of the game 26:24 and thus moved into the knockout round as winners of the AFC North Division.

In the “final” against the Steelers, the guests from Baltimore initially took the lead 24:20 with 2:22 minutes left after a touchdown pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson. With 55 seconds left in the game, Rodgers countered with a pass to Calvin Austin III. into the end zone – but the extra point failed. At the last second, kicker Tyler Loop missed a 44-yard field goal to give Baltimore the win.

Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns set an NFL record on Sunday. In the 20:18 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, the defensive end tore quarterback Joe Burrow to the ground in the final quarter, recording his 23rd sack of the season. The previous record of 22.5 “sacks” was held by Michael Strahan (2001) from the New York Giants and TJ Watt from the Pittsburgh Steelers (2021).

The last open playoff spot in the NFC had previously gone to the Carolina Panthers. In the NFC South, they benefited from Atlanta’s win against New Orleans (19:17) after their 14:16 against Tampa Bay. The Falcons fired coach Raheem Morris and manager Terry Fontenot after the game.
