The former Mainz player Jeremiah St. Juste is turning his back on Sporting Lisbon and returning to Feyenoord Rotterdam in his native Netherlands. The central defender was sidelined by the Portuguese in the current season and was no longer used in the league.
In total, he has made 80 appearances for the Leões since his €10 million move from the Bundesliga to Sporting in the summer of 2022. St. Juste signed a contract with the Eredivisie club until 2027 with an option for a further year. The professional’s market value fell from 16 million euros to 3 million euros during his time in Portugal.
“It’s great to be back here. It feels good and makes me proud. Now that I’m back here, you can tell that the club hasn’t stood still and that goes for me too. With everything I’ve been through and my experience, you can expect more from me. This is a fantastic opportunity to prove myself again and help the club, the team and the fans get out of this situation. I’m looking forward to being back on the pitch and reliving the feeling of De Kuip,” said St. Juste. Rotterdam is already 16 points behind leaders PSV in the table after 19 matchdays, but is still second.
