Here’s a look at a few events going on in Sioux Falls through February.
Tuthill Winter Games
The annual family-friendly event will include cardboard toboggan races, Hungry Hungry Human, human curling and powder putt-putt golf, from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 10 at Tuthill Park.
There will also be a cardboard sledding “I-Kid-a-Rod” from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 25 at Morningside Park. Can make with cardboard and duct tape only. Parents will pull each racer.
Winter Farmers Market
The Falls Park Winter Farmers Market continues through spring, with winter dates including Jan. 10 and Jan. 24 and Feb. 14 and Feb. 28. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mosaic Arts and Events.
K9 Root Beer Keg Races
The third annual event will feature dogs attached to an appropriately sized beer keg they must pull to the finish line. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at Spencer Park.
Cinderella
Haven Dance Academy will present the classical ballet performance at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Washington Pavilion.
The Races at Great Bear
Participants in the skiing and snowboarding competition can earn points toward an invitational on March 1, in which the top five racers from the season will compete. Entry fee is $10 with a chance to win trophies and door prizes. Races are 1-3 p.m. Jan. 11 and 25; Feb. 1, 8 and 22 at Great Bear Ski Valley.
Sioux Falls Skyforce
The local NBA G League basketball team will play Jan. 11 against the Rip City Remix, Jan. 17-18 against the Salt Lake City Stars, Jan. 21 against the Long Island Nets, Feb. 4 and 6 against the Maine Celtics, Feb. 19 against the Rio Grande Valley Pipers and Feb. 20 and 22 against the Valley Suns.
Social Connections
Meet adults on the autism spectrum at the Tuthill House for puzzles, games and snacks. Events are 6-7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 and Feb. 10.
Winter Nature Explorers
The outdoor activity will be 3-4 p.m. Jan. 15, 22 and 29 at Arrowhead Park, for ages 4-5. The event includes an exploration walk and then a children’s wilderness story inside the Arrowhead House by the fire.
Finding and Enjoying Nature Talk
South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks will host a Naturalist Program from 7-8 p.m. Jan. 15 at Good Earth State Park.
They also will have a talk on owls from 7-8 p.m. Feb. 19.
The Greater Sioux Falls Outdoor Show
The 38th annual expo will be Jan. 16-18 at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds and include a look at campers and RVs, boats and pontoons, fifth-wheelers and all-terrain vehicles. Hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Comedy Date Night
The one-night event on Jan. 16 at the Washington Pavilion will feature “America’s Got Talent” winner Dustin Tavella and comedian Ted Cunningham. Showtime is 7 p.m.
Sioux Falls Stampede
Attend hockey games at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Jan. 16-17 against the Sioux City Musketeers, Feb. 7 against the Green Bay Gamblers, Feb. 14 against the Des Moines Buccaneers, Feb. 15 and 22 against the Fargo Force and Feb. 21 against the Omaha Lancers.
Evenings at the Butterfly House and Aquarium
The butterfly conservatory and aquarium will stay open till 7 p.m. on Jan. 16, featuring superhero crafts.
Adult Night Out at Thunder Road
Thunder Road is offering a $29 unlimited pass for adults only, starting Jan. 16 and continuing on the third Friday of every month.
Snowshoeing
- Head out 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Jan. 17 or Feb. 7 at The Outdoor Campus for a group excursion.
- Snowshoe and Nature Stroll will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Arrowhead Park. All equipment provided.
- Senior Snowshoe is a group snowshoe hike from 1-2 p.m. Feb. 22 at Terrace Park. Cost is $8.
- Snowshoe Glowshoe is a guided snowshoe stroll with glow sticks from 6-7 p.m. Feb. 27 at Legacy Park. Cost is $5 for ages 13-17, and equipment is provided.
Cross-country skiing
Join an excursion at The Outdoor Campus from 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Jan. 17 or Feb. 21.
Jacobson Plaza events on the ice
- Prince and Princess Skate Party for kids, from 3-5 p.m. Jan. 17. Cost is $5.
- Wear tropical gear during the Hi Skate from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 24 and 25.
- Local mascots will attend Mascot Monday from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 2, 9 and 23.
- Valentine’s Day Skate from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 14.
- Family Fun Skate will be 1-4 p.m. Feb. 22 and include a hot chocolate bar and S’mores station.
The Toughest Monster Truck Tour
The motorsports and racing show will be 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Golf It
The golf competition will be 1-2 p.m. Jan. 24 and Feb. 8 at the city’s Westside Rec Center.
The rec center will also have a badminton tournament from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 14.
Mozart’s A Little Night Music
The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra will present composer Jessica Meyer’s “Through Which We Flow” with South Dakota native Michael Abels’ “Delights and Dances” at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
The SDSO will also present its Winter Chamber Music Concert on Feb. 1 and its Youth Orchestra Winter Camerata Feb. 3-4, both at Augustana University.
Mrs. Doubtfire
The new musical comedy will be 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30-31 and 2 p.m. Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Washington Pavilion.
Sunrise Coffee and Yoga
From 8-9 a.m. Jan. 31 at Arrowhead House, for ages 18 and older.
Doggie Date Night
Bring your dog to Pawsible Dog Park at Jacobson Plaza from 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 for photos, treats and raffles.
Fireside Friends: Cozy Tales and Crafts
The toddler-aged event at the Arrowhead House will include stories, snacks and crafts by the fireplace. Classes are 4-5 p.m. Feb. 5, 12 and 19.
Eric Church
The country singer’s Free the Machine Tour will stop in Sioux Falls on Feb. 6 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Matt Maher
The 26th annual Gift of Hope candlelit concert will be Feb. 6 at St. Michael Parish, featuring Christian singer-songwriter Matt Maher.
The Black Market
What was formerly known as Benson’s Flea Market will be Feb. 7-8 at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

‘Moulin Rouge’
The glitzy, award-winning musical will run Feb. 11-15 at the Washington Pavilion.
Billy Gardell
The actor’s Less is More tour will visit 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at The Orpheum Theatre Center.
President’s Day Weekend Bash
The Midco Aquatic Center will host Cardboard Battleship from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14, Valentine Cookie Decorating from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 and Rubber Duck Races from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 15. There will be pizza specials Feb. 13-15.
Mania: The ABBA Tribute
The touring band will perform 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18.
The Premiere Premieres
The Premiere Playhouse will present a double feature Feb. 20-22, presenting “The Question and the Answer” by H.E. Dunkle and “Two Sides” by Leigh Spencer. Shows are 7 p.m. each night at the Rock Island Building on North Phillips Avenue.
Ice fishing
Head out at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Feb. 21 at The Outdoor Campus. Spots fill up fast.
Storm chaser Reed Timmer
Dominate the Storm: A Heart-Pumping Evening with Reed Timmer will be 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21.
NSIC Basketball Tournament
The men and women’s Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament will be Feb. 28-March 3 at the Sanford Pentagon.
Ice Skating
Outdoor rinks in Sioux Falls include Tuthill Park on Cliff Avenue, Memorial Park on Sertoma Avenue and the Jacobson Plaza on North Phillips Avenue.
