Milan (Urania Milan – Givova Scafati 72-79) – After a splendid first half, the Wildcats gradually fade away, punished by too many errors and Givova’s rough defense, 72-79. Walker, Mascolo and Italiano are decisive, an excellent Gentile is not enough for the Rossoblù. Scafati starts strong by immediately hitting from the arc, but Milano responds immediately with initiatives from Taylor and Gentile (7-6). It’s a real battle under the basket: D’Almeida has to work overtime against the Allen-Iannuzzi duo, and an incursion by Taylor is worth the first overtaking (11-9). Givova raises the game with Mollura and Mascolo, but Wegreenit remains hooked thanks to the baskets of Rogic and Morgillo (19-16). Milan tightens their defense and flies up to a double-digit lead with the Rogic-Sabatini axis, before the former player brings Scafati back to -7 (26-19). Tension rises, a coach arrives on the Milanese bench, but the Wildcats react with pride: Rogic again scores the 32-24. The central part of the quarter was marked by errors on both fronts, until a strike from Gentile got the Allianz Cloud moving again (37-28). Rashed’s triple from the corner explodes the stadium for the maximum advantage, but the end of the half favors Givova, who comes back to make it 40-35 at the break. Milan struggled to find offensive fluidity, while Walker became a factor and scored the +7 at the penultimate siren (49-56). The last quarter opens with a flash from Gentile, who however commits the fourth penalty despite remaining the main offensive reference (56-60). Allen and Mollura go out for fouls, but Vitucci’s bench responds presently: Italiano and Iannuzzi keep Scafati ahead 59-66 in the 35th minute. The Wildcats’ energy runs out: Scafati, with experience, places the decisive shot (59-69). In the last three minutes the rossoblù reaction does not arrive; Gentile is the last to try, but it is still Italian who closes the score at 64-75.
