Atalanta continues the climb towards Europe that began with the arrival of Palladino on the bench. And in spite of the absences he does it with Krstovic’s brace. Bologna continues to decline. A decline that becomes collapse and crisis for Vincenzo Italiano’s team, certified by the second consecutive knockout and a victory that has been missing since November.
Close to the leading group, Como escapes, Atalanta passes to Dall’Ara and tries to keep the trail at-5, overtaking the rossoblù. Bologna, on the other hand, scores their third consecutive home defeat and the second defeat in a row after the one at San Siro: the rossoblù team has not won since November 22nd, conceding goals for the eleventh consecutive match, crisis numbers, indeed. There was a Bologna and there is no longer. If up until a month and a half ago Italiano rotated his men, even 7-8 between one match and another without the system and results being affected, now no longer.
Now the magic recipe is that of Palladino, with his fifth victory in his last 7 championship outings at the helm of the Dea. There are no men and the last minute absence is that of Scamacca, but he squeezes the brace from Krstovic and with it the external coup: a goal in each half, first the right-footed one in the 37th minute following an assist in the area by De Ketelaeere, then the left-footed one from the edge of the box in the 15th minute of the second half. A blow resulting from play and pressure, constant from the first minute, with Bologna appearing legible and under the control of the Atalanta players.
Italiano focuses on the former Orsolini, Cambiaghi, Freuler at the start, but De Roon and Ederson in midfield win all the duels, De Ketelaere and Zalewski vary, skip men and create superiority on the wingers and Krstovic plays defense: but above all he makes no mistakes in front of goal when De Ketelaere jumps Miranda and puts the ball to him with the lap counter in front of goal. Atalanta dominates, Bologna has an opportunity in the first half with Dallinga, who shoots high, and with Cambiaghi and Moro who find Carnesecchi. Episodes and little more, Atalanta created and won, closing the match with Krstovic in the second half and also wasting a couple of opportunities with Ahanor on an inactive ball. The Nerazzurri’s rise continues, as does Bologna’s collapse: it’s a crisis for the Italian team.
