Saylor’s Bitcoin Advice: Barkley’s Regret

The superstar of the National Football League (NFL) Saquon Barkleya well-known enthusiast of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), was once suggested by the founder of Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR), Michael Saylorto invest fully in the most powerful cryptocurrency.

Did Barkley miss a major opportunity?

Speaking to Boardroom media at the annual State of Crypto conference Coinbase On July 22, 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles star opened up about a “fun” interaction with Saylor about investing in Bitcoin.

“Invest everything,” Saylor advised. Barkley wasn’t too sure about the idea at the time, but he admitted in the interview that he probably should have ‘listened’ to the Bitcoin bull.

Saquon Barkley’s advice to investors

Barkley said he would never tell someone how much to invest.

“This is not just the case when it comes to crypto or when it comes to investing. That’s life. You have to find out about things before you get started,” said the Eagles running back.

Barkley’s connection to Bitcoin dates back to 2021, when he decided to receive all of his sponsorship money in the leading cryptocurrency. The money was converted to Bitcoin via Strikea Bitcoin payments company.

Interestingly, since this interview, MSTR stock has lost over 60%, while Bitcoin has fallen 20%.

Saylor: from skepticism to confidence in Bitcoin

Saylor, formerly a Bitcoin skeptic, now runs the company holding the most Bitcoin in the world, with reserves valued at more than $65 billion according to bitcointreasuries.net.

He is known for converting people to orange and encouraged Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization has mortgage Mar-A-Lagothe luxury estate of the Trump family, and to use the proceeds from the sale to invest in Bitcoin.

The price movement : At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $95,430, down 0.54% over the past 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Shares of Strategy were up 0.90% in after-hours trading after closing down 4.70% at $170.91 during Thursday’s regular trading session.

MSTR maintains a weaker price trend in the short, medium and long term with a poor Value ranking, according to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings.
