This is one of the good plans at the start of the year for Xbox players. Until January 18, 2026, seven games from Electronic Arts are available for free download, divided according to whether or not you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber. Full access, free of charge, but also temporary : At the end of the trial period, access will be cut off unless you decide to purchase them.
This offer aims to promote the latest titles from the EA Sports branch, by giving players the opportunity to test games that are sometimes neglected or considered too expensive upon release. Here’s everything you need to know.
4 free games for all Xbox players
Even without a Game Pass subscription, you can already download and play these four EA games for free, on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S:
- EA Sports FC 26
- Madden NFL 26
- College Football 26
- NHL 26
These are EA’s flagship sports games released in 2025. Their full version is accessible for free, but only until January 18. Ideal if you have never dared to take the plunge to test the new version of FIFA (now renamed EA Sports FC) or to try your hand at NHL at no cost. Attention : you don’t keep the games. From January 19, you will need to purchase to continue playing.
3 additional games for Game Pass subscribers
If you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you unlock three additional games to try for free during the same period:
- F1 25
- UFC 5
- EA Sports PGA Tour
These titles are accessible through EA Play, which is included with the Game Pass subscription. The opportunity to test a racing game, a fighting game and a golf game, all released recently. Again, access is temporary, but EA is currently enforcing promotions on the Microsoft Store for those who would like to purchase the games tested.
