San Marino Sport Awards: 2025 National Council Update

Last National Council of 2025 full of news for San Marino sport. The session of December 22nd opened with greetings and the end-of-year speech Secretary of State for Sport, Rossano Fabbriwho underlined the importance of the work of all those who work in the Federations and contribute to the improvement of sport.

Great attention paid to the new format of San Marino Sport Awards. The regulations for the awarding of sporting honors and recognitions have been revised with new prizes that will be awarded during the evening and it has been announced that medals for sporting merit will only be awarded at the end of one’s career. On January 23rd, the date of the gala evening, at the proclamation of theAthlete of the Year delivery will be added recognitions such as the Technician of the Year, Team of the Year and Promise of the Yearan award reserved for an Under 18 athlete who has distinguished himself in 2025.
Also illustrated renewed voting mechanism: the Technical Commission will define a list of candidates for each category and the Federations will have three preferences available for each. At the end of the voting, i three most voted candidates of each section will compete for the respective recognition. In choosing the winners, in addition to the Technical Commission, representatives of the sports federations, the press associations (Consulta per l’Informazione and Associazione San Marino Stampa Sportiva), the members of the Executive Committee and the Awards Commission will also have the opportunity to participate in the vote, in order to make the decision more participatory and inclusive.

During the National Council there was also talk of regulation for the concession of use of gyms and sports facilities and the revision of the criteria for the delivery of contributions to the Federations.
