Saburi Adeniji: Rangers Fundraiser After Brain Death

Non-league footballer Saburi Olayinka Adeniji has suffered a serious brain stem injury and is considered close to death, Kings Park Rangers said. A fundraiser has been opened to support his family.

He was admitted to hospital on 15 January after suffering the injury.

He has since been classified as brain dead because of the extent of the damage.

His wife and four-year-old daughter are in Nigeria, preparing to travel to the UK before he dies or life support is withdrawn.

The GoFundMe aims to cover travel and accommodation, then provide financial support for his wife and help secure his daughter’s future and education.

At the time of publication, more than £7,400 had been raised, with the appeal close to its £8,000 target.
