Necochea: Argentine Veterans Soccer Championship Host

As a result of a meeting between the Secretary of Tourism and Productive Development, Matías Sierra, the Director of Sports, Juan Coria, and the president of the Argentine Football Federation for Veterans (FAFu.V.), Néstor Floris, The XXI Argentine Football Championship for Veterans to be held in Necochea was confirmed. For this reason, the first contacts have already begun to work together with the Federation in the sporting event.

The tournament will take place between November 20 and 23 of this year and a large turnout is expected, both from footballers and fans.

The FAFuV brings together 34 affiliated associations that represent 11 provinces as direct members and also as adherents.

It is expected in November that some 2,000 competitors will arrive, to which the respective technical teams and the numerous and usual companions of this type of sporting events must be added, bringing the call to approximately 5,000 people.

In this way, our city will once again become the venue for a relevant competition in the most popular sport in Argentina.

The matches will take place on different fields in the Necochea district and will face teams from our province, as well as Catamarca, Córdoba, San Luis, Chaco, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, La Pampa, Río Negro, Neuquén, Chubut, Santa Cruz, Mendoza, Misiones and La Rioja.

“Once again Necochea was chosen for an important sporting event. This is not a coincidence, but the consequence of having worked well on previous occasions and gradually acquiring a certain prestige in the market for these meetings,” said Sierra. “We are happy to be hosts again, because without a doubt this movement in the low season will mean direct benefits for local commerce. In addition, we must not forget that it is an unbeatable opportunity to spread the beauties of our city and promote tourism,” he concluded.
