Ruthenois Archery: Regional Qualification Success

During the weekend of January 10 and 11, the Rodez archery stadium hosted one of the regional qualifying rounds for the French championship at the Monastère.

During the season, six weekends are organized in Occitanie to allow regional archers to achieve the necessary scores to participate in the French indoor archery championships. On the menu, events at 18 meters in three disciplines: recurve bow, compound bow and bare bow. And on the weekend of January 10 and 11, it was the turn of the Ruthenian club (SRTA) to organize, like every year in January in the Monastery room, this traditional selective competition. No fewer than 133 regional and national level archers came from 25 clubs in the region for the occasion. The Ruthenian club was the most represented with 35 archers, equally boys and girls, from U11 to seniors.

Among the results of the weekend, we can note the good performances of the Aveyron archers, and in particular Ruthenois, with a first place for the 41st national archer, Candice Hahusseau. She won the gold medal in the women’s S1 category in recurve arch. A first place was also won by Christian Andrieu, in the S3 recurve category, and Gilbert Bayol, senior, in bare bow. The archers from Saint-Affrique were the big winners among the youth in recurve, with Dylan Cervera (U11), Candice Le Coz, Hugo Garcia (U13). Eve Bocher (U12), Lucie Guibert, Emilien Galzin (U18) and Mathias Gaben (U21). In compound archery, the Aveyronnais once again held a good rank with victories for the archers from Bozouls, Yann Berdague (S2), Olivier Fabre (S2) and Alexis Busquet (U18) from Salmiech.
