The fight is fierce in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. Navigating a four-game winning streak, the Toronto Raptors hit a wall against one of the league’s powers on Wednesday night at ScotiaBank Arena in the Queen City.
With Mikal Bridges’ 30 points, OG Anunoby’s 26, Josh Hart’s 22 and Karl-Anthony Towns’ 22 rebounds, the New York Knicks defeated the Raptors, 119-92.
This is the 11th time in a row that the New York team has defeated the Torontonians.
Coming back from an excellent five-game road trip in which he won four games, including a close call against the Silver Superpower, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Raptors blew it in the third quarter.
Former Raptors Anunoby led the charge with just under four minutes remaining in the quarter to give his team the lead for the first time in the game. New York then dominated the quarter with 15 points. Bridges, among other things, took advantage of the generosity of his hosts to score 11 of his 30 points in total.
Toronto is 4th in the Eastern Conference standings with 29 wins and a .592 winning percentage, tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
