The Unicaja point guard suffered an injury last night in the BCL match at the Joventut court. Upon the team’s arrival in Málaga this afternoon, an MRI was performed at Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga, which showed a muscle injury that will keep him out for 3 to 4 weeks.
Unicaja’s match yesterday at the Joventut court, within the second day of the BCL, brought bad news in the form of an injury to the team captain, Alberto Díaz.
The guard from Malaga felt pain in his left leg during the second quarter and could not return to the court. Upon the team’s return to Málaga this afternoon, the player went directly to the Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital, where an MRI was performed which determined that he suffered a muscle injury in the hamstring of his left leg.
The evolution of the injury will determine the time he will be out, although it is estimated between 3 and 4 weeks, so he will miss the next matches and it will be very difficult for him to be available for the Copa del Rey in Valencia.
