Responsible for the U12 category of Argenteuil FC, Mohamed Moutadjer participated in the last two editions of the PSG Club Tour Snipes. He keeps vivid memories, the cascade of children’s smiles but also a real personal enrichment which serves him in his journey as an educator.
This program, created in 2020, is open to young people aged 11 to 13 years old licensed in amateur clubs in Île-de-France. The result is three possibilities: either an invitation to the tournament organized at the Poissy Campus (May 3), or participation in the half-time challenge planned during the break of a Ligue 1 match at the Parc des Princes, or training organized by PSG educators.
“Two years ago, I was able to attend the tournament in Poissy and the following year, when I saw that they were doing the operation again, I registered for everything,” says Mohamed. This time I was selected for training. It was an exceptional experience. The children ask for more, we see them happy. The organization was perfect from A to Z.”
The session held on the d’Argenteuil field particularly struck him: “The PSG people travel and really do training like the pros, with all the equipment. In the morning there was a meeting, where they gave advice to the young educators. In the afternoon, we were on the field with the young people. They really make the kids experience the life of the pros. »
“It allowed me to structure the sessions”
This operation allows PSG to maintain real proximity with the clubs in the region. “This is an essential meeting to maintain a relationship of trust with the Ile-de-France training clubs,” underlines Yohan Cabaye, sports director of the training center. It is a time of proximity which allows us to interact directly with educators, to observe young people in their environment and to better understand the realities on the ground.
Beyond the fun the children had, the advice given by the coaches of the European champion club proved very valuable for the educators. “Personally, it allowed me to structure the sessions,” confirms Mohamed Moutadjer. From now on, we work on specific themes. It brought knowledge for all the educators who were present. »
In Argenteuil, the impact of this day was quickly felt. “After the passage of Paris Saint-Germain, there were a lot of requests for licenses,” underlines Mohamed. Before we had 1,100 licensees and this year we are at 1,220. It is especially the women’s division which has doubled. Before we had one team per category. Now there are two or three of us.”
“By offering mixed and accessible experiences to young players as well as young players, this program helps create vocations,” confides Sabrina Delannoy, Deputy Director of the PSG women’s section. It is by going to meet clubs and supporting educators on the ground that we contribute, concretely, to structuring and growing women’s football. »
Each year, the Club Tour Snipes benefits nearly 1,200 young Ile-de-France residents who are offered the opportunity to experience a day in the shoes of a PSG player. Guided by seasoned coaches, they discover the methods, the exercises and above all, the requirements of the high level.
Training sessions will take place from April 20 to May 1. They are open to all clubs with a women’s and men’s section. Registration files must be sent before February 13. In 2025, 300 clubs out of the 980 in Île-de-France had applied. Proof of the enthusiasm that this operation arouses and of its reputation, the club has already received 162% more requests than last year.
