It will be a start to 2026 full of expectations and responsibilities for Kristina Pruccoliarcher from San Marino, who begins the new year from European indoor bare bow vice champion and world record holder in the specialtyrecorded at the beginning of December. Expectations which, however, come to her more from the outside than from the inside, given that the 2024 continental champion does not want to create any. His first commitment will be Lancaster Archery Classica tournament on US soil, in Pennsylvania, which has become a fixed stop in the indoor season also given the rich prizes and programme from January 22nd to 25th. For Pruccoli, her best finish so far is second place in 2023, a year that put her on the radar of the global barebow community. Then it will be the turn of the Europei indoorwhich will take place in Bulgaria, in Plovdiv, from 16 to 21 February.
“Setting the world record, at the beginning of December, certainly brought me enthusiasm for the rest of the indoor season – comments the archer -. The Lancaster Archery Classic will arrive in a couple of weeks, in the United States, and then I will go to Bulgaria for the European Indoor Championships. I have no real expectations for these tournaments: I know I would like to get back on the floor in Lancaster, for the final round, and I know I would like to get back to a medal final at the European Championships, but my expectations for the two events are to hit clean, beautiful shots, to work on the parts of my shot that aren’t so solid yet, and to continue to sharpen my concentration. So, I just expect to race better than I have before and to continue to push myself to be in these stressful and competitive situations, to be able to overcome all this stress and offer the best performance possible.”
Despite the many important goals already achieved, Pruccoli certainly cannot be defined as a veteran of the discipline: he obtained these results in less than five years of practice. Something surprising, even for her, who comments on her journey like this: “When I started shooting, four and a half years ago, I didn’t imagine that I would become European champion, that I would win the gold medal in 2024, then the silver one the following year and that in the end, just a few weeks ago, I would obtain the world record. I didn’t expect any of this to happen. I am very grateful to the San Marino Archery Federation for the support they offer me, as I continue to push myself to achieve more and more goals, to bring appreciation to our little republic, which I love so much.”
