He World Archery Championships 2025 From September 5 to 12, it brought together more than 500 archers from 74 countries in the city of Gwangju, Republic of Korea.

The host nation, a great world power in this sport, finished at the top of the medal table with seven metals (two golds, one silver and four bronzes), but the championship had a marked Spanish accent.

To begin with, Mexico and Spain had the best performances in their history. Both nations won their first world gold medals, and in both cases twice.

Mexico, second in the medal table, won two gold medals and one bronze, and participated in all of them Andrea Maya Becerra. The Jalisco archer won in the women’s individual and team divisions, and a bronze in mixed teams along with Sebastian Garcia.

For its part, Spain won the first two gold medals in its history, both in recurve bow: the first, in the mixed team event with Elia Canales y Andrés Temiñoand the second, with Aragón in the men’s individual category.

The other medals with a Spanish accent in the 2025 Archery World Cup were those of the Salvadoran Sofía Paiz (silver) and the Colombian Alejandra Usquiano (bronze), who accompanied Becerra on the female individual compound bow podium.
