The Portugalete time trial, the third Luis Fernando Baranda Memorial, will open the calendar of winter trawler descents in Euskadi on Sunday at 12 noon. … In Galicia and Cantabria it already got its start a few weeks ago. The event presents a very notable participation with the presence of seven boats from the Eusko Label Liga in boys and four from the Euskotren League in girls, as well as teams destined to be important in the ARC such as Kaiku or Zarautz, among others.
In total, the test will bring together more than 60 crews, adding to the two previous categories the boats that will compete in veterans and youth. Regarding the men’s time trial, 28 trainers will compete and the last ten teams to start at one-minute intervals will be, in this order: Deusto A, Zarautz, Santurtzi, Kaiku, Ondarroa, Isuntza, Getaria, Urdaibai, Donostiarra and Zierbena. In women, for their part, Hibaika, Astillero, Zumaia and Orio will be the teams that will close their round, also from minute to minute.
The finish line for all participants will be located in front of the Puente Colgante hotel in the Jarrilla town. They will depart from the vicinity of the Kaiku pavilion to complete a total of 4,000 meters without a ciaboga in the case of girls, veterans and youth and 5,000 meters with a ciaboga in the Benedicta dock in the case of senior teams.
