FBI Arrests Snowboarder: Drug Lord’s Decade in Hiding Ends

From a successful snowboarder to one of the FBI’s most wanted criminals: Ryan Wedding is said to have ordered murders and smuggled hundreds of kilos of cocaine. Now he was caught.

Former Olympic snowboarder and one of the FBI’s ten most wanted criminals, Ryan Wedding, has been arrested in Mexico. This was confirmed by US Attorney General Pamela Bondi and FBI chief Kash Patel on Platform X. The arrest was the result of successful cooperation with international partners and the government in Mexico, Patel said at a press conference afterwards.

The Canadian has a remarkable biography, was once a successful professional athlete and then gained fame as a criminal. Wedding is accused of running a drug ring. According to the information, he is also said to have ordered several murders to further his drug business. Authorities had offered a $15 million reward for information leading to the 44-year-old’s arrest and conviction.

Bondi sees arrest as Trump’s success

“Wedding was flown to the United States where he will face trial,” Bondi wrote. Wedding’s arrest was a direct result of US President Donald Trump’s leadership on law and order, she said.

According to FBI boss Patel, Wedding is said to have been hiding in Mexico for more than a decade. With his transnational drug trafficking organization, he is said to have regularly transported hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Colombia via Mexico to the USA and Canada.

“This is an important day for a safer North America and the world and a message that those who break our laws and harm our citizens will be brought to justice,” Patel said.

Wedding took part in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In the parallel giant slalom he took 24th place for Canada.
