THE NEWS
THE MATCH
The first half of the twenty-first round of the championship between Pisa and Atalanta ends in a draw, but it is the home Nerazzurri who complain after seeing at least five clear scoring opportunities disappear before holding on to the new center forward arrived from Viktoria Plzen, Rafiu Durosinmi, who replaced Meister, who splendidly turns Leris’s cross into the net in the 88th minute. Five minutes earlier the Bergamo players, rather subdued throughout the match, had found the advantage with Krstovic. Palladino’s team was forced into overtime to avoid capitulating early and must say thanks to Carnesecchi who with his saves kept the Bergamo goal inviolate almost until the end. Pisa grinds out play and corners but doesn’t sting: tonight their second goal of the season arrived at home, after the winning one against Cremonese on 7 November.
Italy soccer Serie A – Pisa SC vs Atalanta
Too little to enjoy a point that moves the table, but still leaves the Tuscans in the relegation zone with the knowledge that up until now they could (and should) have picked up something more at home which now, inevitably, weighs on the race for salvation. In the first half, Pisa leads the game and scares Atalanta on more than one occasion: the first signal, however, only came in the 20th minute with a solo from Touré who dribbled two and called Carnesecchi to deflect it into the corner. Two minutes later it was Aebischer who wasted a gigantic opportunity: he arrived in front of Carnesecchi but chose altruism rather than shooting on goal. His assist is deflected by Meister but the ball hits the goalkeeper’s chest. The midfielder collects and puts it back in the middle but no teammate finds the winning deflection with the goal unguarded. Atalanta only showed up in the 31st minute after half an hour of nothing, but De Ketelaere’s header at the end of an insistent move went over. In the second half it is Moreo again, in the 7th minute, who scares the guests: a superb save by Carnesecchi from a corner action and the danger averted.
Pisa SC vs Atalanta
In the 10th minute Scalvini turns on goal from two steps after a shot from De Ketelaere: Scuffet saves himself. A minute earlier Palladino had revolutionized his team with the return of Jack Raspadori (in place of a disappointing Scamacca) on the pitch together with Ederson and Zappacosta (Pasalic and Musah out). Atalanta changes skin and appears more lively, gaining meters and easing the pressure of the home team who in the 31st minute, however, are once again dangerous with a shot from the edge of the area by Piccinini deflected over the crossbar by Carnesecchi. After all, Gilardino had believed in it completely and had inserted the Nigerian who arrived from the Czech Republic and also inserting Leris and Piccinini himself in place of Marin and Tramoni. However, it was the Bergamo players who found the advantage in the 38th minute with Krstovic clearing up a mix-up in the area, with Pisa complaining about a previous foul by the attacker on Calabresi. The VAR check revealed no irregularities and confirmed the goal. The Tuscans staggered but remained standing and five minutes later found a deserved equalizer with Durosinmi.
