The Lislo archery club La Flèche Gasconne, after its mobilization for “Pink October”, received good news at the end of last year.
On the occasion of “Pink October”, the Flèche Gasconne club participated on October 11 in the activities proposed by the Flore à Lias association and the municipality of Lias to raise as much funds as possible for the Gers Cancer League. A collection was made among the archers and the office decided to also pay a check in the name of the club.
Karine Gaffet, president of the Lislois archery club, was invited on December 12 to the presentation of the donations gathered during this October weekend, which amounted to more than €3,900, well beyond all predictions made. And it was with pride that the volunteers of the archery club, all present for this archery initiation, welcomed the announcement of the final amount. “We will do better next year.”
Congratulatory letters
Furthermore, following a campaign for the recognition of volunteering and the promotion of associative commitment launched by the departmental service for youth, commitment and sports (SDJES 32), La Flèche Gasconne submitted several applications which were all selected to receive letters of congratulations from the prefect of Gers. Acting very involved for years for the proper functioning of their association, 6 members of the club went to Auch during the ceremonies on this occasion: two young people, Chayan Gaffet and Arthur Pourchaud, on November 26 and four adults, on December 15, Guy Dangla, Karine Gaffet, Stéphane Gaudefroy and Isabelle Morettin.
Departmental championship
The year 2025 ended with good news: La Flèche Gasconne learned at the beginning of December that the annual competition on January 18 will, for the 2nd consecutive year, support the departmental indoor championship, a confidence renewed by the departmental archery committee 32 for the organization of this Gers event. The archers “hope to see a large audience there to witness new exploits”.
