Red Star has not finished its transfer window. Looking for a midfielder after the departures of Joachim Eickmayer (Amiens) and Samuel Renel (Rouen), the Audon club is in the process of hiring Balthazar Pierret (25 years old) who has been playing in Lecce since 2024. While the former QRM and Dinamo Bucharest player seemed very close to joining Troyes, leader of Ligue 2, he finally chose his runner-up Red Star who were pushing in parallel to sign him.
According to our information, Red Star and Lecce have reached an agreement for the transfer of Balthazar Pierret who should be able to travel in the coming hours to undergo his medical examination. The compensation has not been filtered but the two clubs have reportedly negotiated 50% on a future resale.
At Lecce, Balthazar Pierret had less playing time in recent months, after appearing in 30 Serie A matches last season. Barring an improbable turnaround, he will therefore be Red Star’s third winter recruit after goalkeeper Mouez Hassen and center forward Pape Meïssa Ba.
