Perez gave his assessment in the program Football talk. Deijl played on behalf of Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League on Thursday evening, but will complete his transfer to Feyenoord in the short term. “When you have possession of the ball, you have added value to Deijl,” says Perez.

However, the analyst has his reservations about the Rotterdam team’s transfer policy: “When I read it, I thought: you shouldn’t go in that direction again like ten or fifteen years ago, when they started bringing in all kinds of middle-ranking players. I hope he can remain himself at Feyenoord. At Go Ahead he is a nice, fresh boy. At Feyenoord that is often difficult, because the pressure is different.”
Still, Perez thinks that Deijl can make a positive contribution to the current Feyenoord. “His personality is also important for the club.”
