Ajax vs Volendam: Tomiyasu Debuts, Gloukh on Bench

Fred Grim has announced Ajax’s line-up for FC Volendam’s visit to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The match between the fellow provincials starts at 4:30 PM.

Vítezslav Jaros is under the bar at Ajax. Anton Gaaei is once again the right back at the Amsterdam club. Owen Wijndal is suspended, which means Lucas Rosa returns to the left side of the defense.

Despite a tough match against Villarreal, Aaron Bouwman gets a new chance from Grim. Youri Baas is again his partner in the center of the back for the Amsterdam team.

Youri Regeer pulled out injured in Spain but will kick off against Volendam. Sean Steur takes the place of Jorthy Mokio and Davy Klaassen completes Ajax’s midfield against Volendam.

Oscar Gloukh is in a good phase at Ajax, but once again has to make do with a reserve role: Rayane Bounida starts as right wing attacker. Mika Godts’s task is to supply Kasper Dolberg from the left flank.

It is also notable that winter acquisition Takehiro Tomiyasu is in the Amsterdam selection for the first time, and that Wout Weghorst returns to the bench after injuries. The match between Ajax and Volendam can be seen on ESPN 1.

Ajax line-up: Jaros; Gaaei, Bouwman, Baas, Rosa; Regeer, Klaassen, Steur; Bounida, Dolberg, Godts.

FC Volendam line-up: Van Oevelen; Ugwu, Verschuren, Amevor, Leliendal; Kwakman, Kökçü, Bukala; Ideho, Kuwas, Oehlers.
