The Boston Celtics showed their pride at the Barclays Center to subdue the Brooklyn Nets who sold the defeat dearly. In a duel that needed two overtimes, Mazzulla’s team showed quality on the court, surviving a high-voltage finale.
Payton Pritchard was the star of the game with 32 points, supported by an integral performance by Jaylen Brown, who recorded 27 points and 12 assists. For the Nets, Michael Porter Jr. led the local effort with 30 points, but it was not enough to prevent his team from falling.
Spanish rookie Hugo González had a providential intervention by scoring a triple with just 0.4 seconds left, forcing the second overtime. From there, Boston took final control with a three-point play by Anfernee Simons and a key three-pointer by Sam Hauser.
With this result, the Celtics improve their record to 28 wins and 16 losses, remaining firmly in second position in the Eastern Conference. They are currently 5.5 games away from the lead, occupied by the Detroit Pistons.

The Boston team will not have a rest, as it must immediately travel to Chicago to face the Bulls this Saturday. The coaching staff will have to evaluate the physical wear and tear after the additional minutes played today to maintain their positive streak.
